Under the motto "Umsonst und Draußen" (free and outdoors), the organizers of the Coburg Schlossplatzfest invite you to the largest gourmet party in northern Bavaria on the Coburg Schlossplatz.

5 days you have the opportunity to indulge in culinary delights, framed by live music and show performances.

Here you can enjoy steaks and crabs, bratwurst and lobster, suckling pig and shrimp, pilsner and prosecco close together.

The ambience between the arcades, Ehrenburg Castle and the Coburg State Theater provides the unique setting. For twenty years now, the Schlossplatz Festival has been a special experience in Coburg's festival summer.

Design ideas, installations, product developments, lectures and discussions - all this is on the 6-day program of the annual Design Days in June. From 2023 in the Kulturfabrik Cortendorf.

With the event series "HUK-COBURG Open-Air-Summer", HUK-COBURG presents attractive stars and open-air concerts every summer in the dreamlike ambience of Coburg's Schlossplatz.

History and avant-garde, light effects and darkness, sound and silence: During the "Night of Contrasts", the Coburg Museum Night in September, the city presents itself in a new, surprising and full of contrasts.

Museums, archives, churches, libraries and other institutions provide insights into areas that are otherwise closed. Shuttle buses take visitors to the individual stations. But there is also plenty to discover outdoors. That's why it's a good idea to wander through the courtyard garden and the adjacent Little Rose Garden. Light installations confuse the senses, music resounds somewhere in the darkness. In addition, various restaurateurs also invite you to culinary discoveries. The event begins at nightfall and ends around 1 am. On this night it is worth staying up late!

No year is as lively as the Coburg Schützenfest, a fair known as the "Vogelschießen".

The traditional Coburg "bird shooting" always begins on Friday of the last weekend in July with the entry of the marksmen into the marquee and the beer tapping by the mayor at around 8:00 pm.

Around 11 p.m. there will be an opening fireworks display. On the 1st Sunday, the Coburg marksmen collect their marksmen's flag from the town hall as part of a procession through the town center, and on the 2nd Sunday it is returned in the evening.

Ferris wheel, loops and other rides, shooting galleries, wine and beer stands, food stalls and two marquees with live music bands offer Coburg residents and their guests a "small Oktoberfest" in the middle of Franconia for a total of 10 days.

The Coburger Convent was founded on May 12, 1951, it is an association of the Landsmannschaften and Turnerschaften at German universities. Today, the Coburger Convent (CC for short) is one of the large corporate associations with over 100 student fraternities at 45 university locations in Germany and Austria.

Every year at Whitsun, hundreds of connections from all over Germany and Austria come to Coburg. The Whitsun Congress ends with a colorful and convivial morning pint on Coburg's market square.

The German Landsmannschaften erected a monument in the Hofgarten in 1926. It shows three naked men clasping a sword and pointing it toward heaven. The virtues of the Coburg Convention are inscribed on the memorial: "Friendship, Honor, Fatherland.
