In 2019 Coburg celebrated the birthday of probably its most famous son: Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria, was born 200 years ago in the best preserved medieval town.
Albert and Victoria were considered a royal dream couple in the nineteenth century. "If I were not the queen, I would gladly live in Coburg," Victoria is reported to have said. She felt drawn to Albert's birthplace and the ducal house of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
Today, every visitor has countless opportunities to approach the glamorous couple from Coburg. Whether this happens via the Veste Coburg, at the ensemble of the castle square or via the castles Callenberg or Rosenau in Rödental, that makes the own gusto. Coburg becomes a historical experience with just these points of contact.
With our arrangements we offer you the opportunity to combine pleasure with history and to actively go in search of Victoria and Albert.
