In 2019, Coburg celebrated its probably most famous son: Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria, was born 200 years ago in one of the best preserved medieval towns.
Albert and Victoria were regarded as the royal dream couple in the 19th century. “If I weren’t the queen, I would live in Coburg,” Victoria is supposed to have said. She felt attracted to Albert’s birthplace and the duke house of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
Every visitor is presented multiple opportunities to get closer to Coburg’s glamour couple. Be it at the Veste Coburg, at the ensemble of the Schlossplatz or the castles Callenberg or Rosenau in Rödental – it’s up to the visitor’s own taste. Coburg becomes a historical experience with these points of contact.
With our arrangements we offer you the chance to combine indulgence with history and to actively search for Victoria and Albert.
